This course is aimed at all staff in health and social care. 

At the end of the training session, there is a short written assessment to evidence the learning of the attendees.

         Define what is meant by infection prevention and control

         Explain the importance of infection control within a health care setting

         Explain the impact of an outbreak of infection on:

o   service users 

o   employees 

o   the health care setting 



Describe workplace policies that relate to infection control

         Describe procedures that are followed in workplace settings to control infection

Roles and Responsibilities

         Describe the roles and responsibilities of:

o   employees 

o   employers 

o   specialist personnel 

         Describe the boundaries of their roles and responsibilities in relation to infection control 

         Outline the records which must be maintained in relation to infection control
