This course is aimed at all staff in health and social care.
At the end of the training session, there is a short written assessment to evidence the learning of the attendees
Introduction - The Skin
o Structure of the skin
o Functions of the skin
o What is a pressure ulcer?
o Classification of pressure ulcers
o Who is at risk?
o Differentiate between pressure, shear and friction forces
o Preventative and pressure relieving aids
· Identify and understand the different Risk Assessment tools available
· Undertake a skin assessment
